Called 4 times in an hour, then finally left a voice mail on the last one saying that someone had filed a lawsuit against me, and it was clearly a prerecorded robotic voice.

They have called and left 2 voicemails today stating that the United States Federal Government has filed a lawsuit against me for fraud. I’m fairly certain if this were the actual case, they would mail something to me via certified mail, not call and leave voicemails. Likely a scam.
Caller stated that there were allegations and action against me from the IRS, at that point I hung up.
Apparently I'm in trouble with the IRS based out of New Nork...
IRS filed lawsuit for fraudulent use of tax ID number. Oh no!
Message said IRS has filed lawsuit against my name....I don’t think the IRS operates like this!
Total scam: "we have tried to notify you regarding this issue in the previous 6 months, but we had no response from your end. So it has been considered an intentional fraud and lawsuit has been filed under your name by united states government" etc etc call their number back. don't do it.
Tried to say the IRS is after me and my tax ID number is wrong. This is illegal for them to do this crap.
exact same issue as previous reviewers
The recording tried the IRS is filing a fraud case against me and they wanted me to call them back. Not a chance.
Called to say there was a lawsuit against me from the IRS. Did not call back, I actually am currently in a payment arrangement with the IRS, and called my contact at the REAL IRS, and she said it is a scam, and to file a report.
Received a phone call stating there was a four serious allegations pressed on my name. Not a chance. Did not call back.
If you get another call, do what I did: See my Reply/Comment to "Anna" in this thread (above). These scammers will NOT be calling me again.
I received a message from (929) 800-4231, just ONE of the MANY ph# they call from, saying I would be taken into custody if I did not call back. Knowing they were scammers, I DID call back, over & over & over & over again.. I called approx 50-60 times, talking "foolishness," reciting nursery rhymes, reading aloud from my Kindle, continuous nonsense every time I called back. Then, I called again and set my mp3 (playing LOUD music) next to my phone (on Speaker setting) for the rep to hear loud & clear. Now they will not answer my call at all. I'm sure they hate that I am tying up a rep's line who could be busy on another call to rip someone off with their IRS scam. Ha! Finally, when I called back AGAIN - upon the rep seeing my Caller ID on their end, s/he immediately hung up on me! No "Hello," no nothing. When I try calling now, I get a recorded message stating, "All of our lines are busy." I'm sure they have permanently removed my number from their calling list. Lol. Good,... and good riddance!
So glad I looked up this number and got to this forum. I also received the "pending lawsuits" as well as the "four serious allegations" and "police custody" computer generated voicemails. Had a feeling it could absolutely be a scam because I paid my taxes...
