These idiots didn't realize they'd contacted a Federal Law Enforcement agent? This is the kind of scam only a third-world criminal would try to pull. It's hard to believe they don't have a clue as to how we conduct these matters in our country. Firstly, the IRS will knock on the door of your last known address. THEY'LL NEVER CALL. YOU ON THE PHONE. And even if they did, they would never leave a message full of vague threats and innuendo they are barred from doing so by law. The only locations the IRS can contact you legally is at your address or on rare occasions your workplace. I can imagine every now and then they'll actually snag some poor character and get them on the hook but it's a hell of a long shot. I have no idea who they are or what their game is, but I find it all rather amusing. I wish I had time to devote to this matter, I could scare the living hell out of them very easily.
