I received a message on my phone saying I needed to return the call promptly to avoid them (unidentified as to who"they" were would begin legal action and this was the final notice. I stupidly called the number and was told I owe the IRS and was about to be arrested. I told the many I spoke with, who spoke with very heavily accented English, that I knew the call was BS, that I could hear by the background noise that it was a call center and that I know the IRS does not ever call people. He told me that I could expect police at my front door soon to arrest me and put me in jail. I told him that was not true and I did not want them to ever call me again. I believe he was going to ask me to pay money for the false debt, but I never let it get that far.
