Said it was from ss administration,
I'm sorry that happened to you. They've been calling me lately, and once the automated message asked my for my ssn, I knew it was a scam. Just a FYI, the IRS will never call you; they send mail/letters. And if a window pops upon your computer and says that your computer has a virus so you have to call this phone number to take care of it, don't do it. This happened to my in-laws and my father, and they thought they were getting tech support but instead they were giving their credit card information away for false services. And those scammers are STILL calling my dad and asking him to turn on his computer and also trying to get his credit card information.
Same thing, said they were from SS and my benefits would be suspended unless I spoke with them. I called number back and was connected to a Direct TV voice mail.
The scammers are spoofing a DirectTV 800 number and calling, claiming to be from the Social Security Administration, using a prerecorded voice to say there's a problem with your SSN and it's now been blocked. The SSA does not "block" SSNs, so this is an obvious scam, as they all are. When I hit "1" and asked to speak with a representative so I could waste as much of their time as I could, they hung up on me. I guess I should have used my "old man voice" instead of my drill sergeant voice. Don't give them any real information, of course.
They say they are from social security administration. They ask for your information and they say that your benefits will stop. THEY ARE LYING. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. CONFRONT THEM.
Automated message saying my SSN had been blocked so I should press 1 to speak to an authorized representative. I hung up because clearly the call is a scam trying to steal people's SSNs.
they call and say was from social security services and they ask me for my information, because they say was a suspicious activity with my number and i gave the information, they are not from sss, they stole my information
Social Security fraud, your SSN cannot be cancelled
