They will also take over your computer. Your mouse will start moving BY THEM without you even touching it
Be careful- they might mention "Microsoft" to make you think they're associated with them, but they are NOT connected to Microsoft in any way. If you ask where their headquarters are, they won't say.
Had my computer crash only to call the 888.713.1392 to say that they need to fix it and they are micro soft anyway they took over and charged me almost 700. After a few days I started thinking about it and called my bank and had my debit card replaced. I don't I oq if they are real or not they told me they were out of New York the the transaction was coming out of ca.
I called my bank to get my money back before it went in there acct. Now they keep calling me leaving messages to call them back I blocked their #
Some Company who says they are in Dallas but they are actually scammers from India. They sent me a Trojan and got black screen of death BUT, magically they can fix it....for almost a grand. IF they stick a phone number on your taskbar do NOT call it. Remove it (YES, you can). R click, go to toolbars, then unclick their number. REPORT THEM
(888) 713-1392 They pretend to be the Geek Squad Team.......They are the real Scammers who have scammed many people
My computer would not let me do anything, it froze. A box came up saying for me to call 888-202-0980 immediately. After I called the number they said they will take care of it. I asked them if it was Microsoft. They said no they were not Microsoft instead a private tech company that takes care of virus's and they could help me. To get rid of it I would have to pay $299.00 that was good for three years of protection and I fell for it. I let them take over my computer. They did get rid of it and put Webroot Security on my computer for a virus protection. They also said not to call the number that was given to me but call the tech # 888-713-1392. Being a senior I hate to say this but I think I was scammed because they added a trojen on my computer and are saying they want more money to get ride of it, another scam. I refused and hung up. I called a computer tech co for help instead. Now I am trying to get my money back.
I received a pop-up on my computer about porn sites (supposedly Microsoft) and that financial information was at risk and my computer was locked and not to turn it off. Also that if I didn't call the number, they would come to my home. Told me to call Microsoft at 888-341-8942 - I called the number and it just kept ringing. Then a minute later, I received a call from 888-713-1392 and they told me they were Alpha Tech 365. I told them I thought they were Microsoft and hung up the phone. I ended up removing and replacing my security program. Then I googled the number and found out they really are a scam.
Scammers They will infect your computer with a virus and then charge you to fix the problem as they steal your passwords and identity. It would be nice if the government can do more to protect consumers from this.
Scammers, charged my friend $900 to fix the problem they gave him. Press and hold the power button for 6-8 seconds to turn off your computer. When you turn it back on it should be gone! Never pay them!!! Don't ever call them. There goal is to separate you from your money!!!
computer locked again the next day .spent 99.00
Yea, they scammed me weeks ago. I got that pop up page and called that #. What a joke. Paid $249 to "fix" something they probably caused. I later checked that # on my phone and came here. Its a big scam people. Don't panic and get burned like me and others. Call a friend or someone knowledgeable to help you.
Tried to scam my husband out of money and put a virus on his computer. Luckily I knew what this was and put a stop to it. Changed all passwords just in case.
1-888-202-0980/713-1392 Tried to scam me out of 300 for encrytption pretending to be Microsoft. They had a slick page in the browser that beeped and locked the computer even when I rebooted. SCAMMERS!
Yesterday my computer was locked, and this number 888-713-1392 showed up on the screen saying to call, when I called the guy said he will take care of the problem, and say I have to pay $199.99.i did not have the money,so I told him I will pay him on the 4/7/2019.could you please tell me who these people are and if i should pay them, thank you.
Is my guilt showing? For being out only $99.90? My experience was pretty much as some of you have described. I propose that Microsoft establish a valid, recognizable information line, known to all. If they have to do referrals to various other services or departments, fine, as long as Microsoft is at the heart of it. Does anyone know what recourse users have besides Geek Squad or questionable #s no one can be sure about?
Computer crashed aand this microsoft # came up scammed me out of $1500.
Not sure exactly what alert precipitated this but my husband ended up believing he needed to pay this group "technical247help.com" +1 888 713 1392) $299 to scan his computer and remove malware. (Credit card alerted him to likely fraud!) They installed a toolbar on his desktop, and I'm not sure what else... YIKES. Since they have now had access to his computer (and our network?!) we now need to figure out what we should do next.
Blocked my laptop as well and claimed to be microsoft. Scammed me out of $600. Ive turned it over to the police. I confronted the scammers about it when they called to check my services. They got real defensive...GUILTY!!!
same thing happened to me 3-11-19 and again 3-12 wanting more money
The same thing happen to me on 03/8/2019.My computer was blocked and popped up a flashing warning as if it was from Microsoft and asked to call immediately the number.I did call that 800 number and they asked to type some codes which make gave them an access to my computer. After negotiation they asked to pay 249.99 and I wrote a check and it was pictured remotely. I blocked my account and will take the lap top to professionals.Hope the damage won't be severe.
The same thing happened to me today! A warning popped up on screen telling me to call a Microsoft phone number. They asked me to type in a code so they could acess my computer. They told me the hackers have access to my my banking and other personal accounts, she told me it would cost $499 to protect me from hackers, she told me that I had no time to think about it, and I had to immedietally pay the money. I hung up and called HP support. They found out that that they had corrupeted 1,300 files. Fortunately Hp fixed my computer and suggested to never call a number that pops up on screen, and to never save passwors. Turns out that they had been accessing my computer for months.
My computer locked up today 3/9/2019. This number 1-888-713-1392 is the phone number that came up on the screen to contact. When I called them they said I was hacked and they would handle everything for $299.99. I complained but they insisted I needed their service. Bottom line is they repaired my computer and charged me $350.00 more for a three-year service. I'm thinking about calling my credit card company and canceling stopping the charge. Their other claim is that this is not virus protection but network protection. The whole deal smells bad.
Scammer who claimed to be micrsoft
