Asking personal infos pretending to be from BMO. I called BMO and it is NOT the bank that is behind this. It’s a scam.

Scammers. They call several times a day, extremely frustrating, I am tired of reporting it to the authorities in Ontario,Canada, they do absolutely nothing about it.

This number calls my house every other day and I have received 3 calls today. I just hang up every time. I never pick up the phone. Now that I am working from home due to the pandemic I cannot believe the number of calls are from phone numbers that I do not know. I received a call a few days ago and my call display showed New Zealand!!

They call at least twice a day from monday to friday and once every saturdays and every sundays. I blocked them as spammers but it only redirects them to my voicemail which records only silence. Two or three times It was woman's voice generator saying "this is a test call" or somethind to that effect. It's been going on for nearly two months now. Unfortunatly, from what I gather, there's not much we can do to prevent this and It's infuriating!

I went beyond customer service. This reply is either misinformation from the same people calling from this number, or this person has something confused. I have called BMO headquarters. I spent 4 hrs yesterday talking to every different department. I gave them the number to verify, and they don’t know or never heard of this company or phone number. They even searched their website while I was on the phone. The Mississauga singlepoint location is shut down, not sure about the rest. And it’s possible these people are pretending to be singlepoint. It’s possible they can hijack a companys email aswell. The phone number isn’t listed on any singlepoint website. THIS IS S WELL EXECUTED PHISHING SCAM. They want your information to verify you. But what they really want is your information for identity theft, or to verify information they have access to or have stolen about your financial situation and coerce you into a payment. Or both. Telling them your name can be audio recorded and used to bypass bank security, since bank security verifys account holders through voice recognition software ontop of other types of information. Also, I don’t have any outstanding payments. And if there was a mistake in the last 30 days BMO even said there would have been a direct email from them about it or their in house collections/mediators would have contacted me first prior to going to collections. Collections provide written statements in the mail. These people didn’t do that. And they harass with multiple phone calls a day. ITS NOT JUST A COURTESY CALL. don’t fall for it.

Received a call from this number and sent it to voicemail. Voicemail was just dead air.

I answered this call initially and was suspicious right away. I said I only deal with my personal banker and hung up. I DID phone my personal banker, and he had no idea what it was about. Decided to look up the number which brought me to this site. Glad I did not answer any of his questions. If it feels wrong, it usually is wrong.
