I was working on my desktop computer the night before. Upon approaching my computer in the morning, it had all types of signs in red that my computer was hacked and all my logins were in danger. I called 888-513-2898 as instructed on the screen. Me, like a fool, dialed that number and thought I was conversing with a team member from Microsoft. He went into detail about everything they are going to fix because we need to do this immediately and whatever I do, do not turn the computer off or restart it. It sounded good and I immediately become suspicious when he laid out the different types of plans with a 3-year for $399, 5-year for $599 and get this, lifetime for $999. I became kind of skeptical, but at these prices, I can get a spanking brand new computer. This is ridiculous. He started getting a little short with me because I wasn't buying into the program. He wanted to know if I had a credit card to charge it to because the longer I waited, the worse the problem is going to become. He also mentioned if I was to choose any plan, there is an installation fee as well as all types of taxes. In other words, if I was to choose the $399 plan that automatically turned into $599 with all these made-up fees. At this point and time, he was really getting agitated with me because I was not pulling out my credit card and told him he is nothing less than a F**ken con artist and hung up.
