I think I've just been the target of an online scam. My computer froze, a pop-up appeared w/ Apple logo directing me to a technical support #. It all initially seemed legit, but after making the payment via credit card I had misgivings & started checking out info' on the internet, & didn't find cooroborating info' (e.g., the company's name wasn't being listed as 'official Apple authorized subsidiary'). I paid for a 5 year support plan, but then later called my credit card co. to put a temporary 'hold' on the charge till I can figure out if it's legit. Two #s are associated with this "ONSITE SUPPORT": 855-797-8551 & 844-525-2777.
