This ripoff scam popped up when I went to zillow and it locked up Firefox while telling me i needed to call that number to unlock my computer. Threatened me with loss of data, name theft and more. Claimed to be Microsoft Support. I ignored it and closed the browser and shut down the web page. Scanned my computer and all is fine.

Known scam, that says your computer is locked up until you call them. They want you to belive they are Microsoft Tech Support. I called them and told them to go pound sand to be nicely!

Just happened to me in Houston, Texas. Computer locked up and their phone number indicating they were Microsoft came up to call. Scary how legit they sound. They scare you into thinking you are being hacked and want you to pay like $249 but we hung up and also shut down computer. They called back using 844 532 1323 and and 844 454 2555 and we told them we were calling Microsoft direct. They hung up.
