My mother just got hit by these guys. She downloaded something and the computer started lagging. Finally a window popped up telling her she had an infection and blah blah blah. She saw they claimed to be Microsoft and because she couldn't get a hold of me, she called this number as directed in the pop up and followed their directions, giving them full access to her computer to fix it, and all for the low low cost of $291.99 plus tech fees and tax, for a total of almost $350. The fun will be in about 8-10 hours when I have a chance to try and clean the malware/spyware off her system.
