They called our listed home phone number saying they had permission to speak to me about my husband but then wouldn't tell me anything other then they needed to get in contact with him. After he called back they claimed that he had a debt from 2004 they were trying a final attempt to resolve before legal action had been taken. We called the company who held the original account who said there were no actions being taken. Checked his credit report that shows nothing on the topic. They wouldn't let him send a check to take care of the balance and wanted it immediately or action would be taken. Even though we told them we already paid it years ago and wanted time to find proof.

I don't know if these people are just lame at their debt collecting with incorrect info or fishing for info for some type of scam but definitely not legit!
