JD Real :

Call from “Unknown” so I didn’t answer. Caller left a 3 second voicemail with no message, but noisy background sounded like a call center. They then immediately called back, this time leaving 30 sec VM that said, “this message is intended for . This is Nicole Taylor, and I’m calling in regard to a court summons that will be served at your home or place of employment this upcoming Thursday. You may contact the filing party at (832) 471-8779 and refer to case number ######. This serves as your initial notice.” Obviously complete BS, for several reasons. For one, no court of any kind anywhere calls people for any reason. Even if they did, a voicemail can never constitute any sort of official notice. The fact that this caller was willing to leave a so-called “case number,” and give her alleged name on an anonymous VM (I use the generic greeting) shows that this is merely an attempt to seem official, not any actual official business. Finally, if any real government entity of any kind were calling, they’d state exactly what office they represented and give their title. Don’t be fooled by these slimy collections agents trying to scare and trick folks with such methods! The ONLY people who call are debt chasers; gov’t, banks, etc will send a letter.
