Claimed to be an employee of San Diego Gas & Electric and we were $998.67 delinquent and had not responded to several late notices. Unless paid today in cash, at a local kiosk, our utilities would be turned off immediately.. To make the entire scam more convincing, they "transferred" me twice to several other "departments" and kept providing me with phony reference numbers.
