Who called from the number +1 (800) 655-4544

Caller sounded like that of Philippino, or eastern indian accent. They make false claims that you have not paid your electric bill (using the name of your electric company) in 2 months and showing delinquent. After which, they claim to have a company utility truck outside your house ready to turn off your electricity unless payment is made. Note: they advise payment could be made by phone, but could take up to 24 hours to process, your electricity will still be turned off, and you will have to pay the $50 fee for reinstatement. They advised to go to any 7-11, VONS, ABERTSONS, STATERBROTHERS, or OFFICE DEPOT. They direct you to these stores, if you are away from home for what is called a "Payment Utility card". The stores, are "claimed" to be authorized sources of payment. The caller also stated: you could make make the payment over the phone, but, by doing so, you will be required to bring in confirmation of payment to reinstate your account. Good news is, I had my wife BS-ing with this guy to hold him at bay on my phone, while I used her phone, to bring up our utility account. It was then, she and I, called him out on his bluff. Call your utility company if this happens to you and file the report with them, which also gets sent to FTC (Federal Trade Commission).

Thick latin accent, claimed to be "James Rodriguez, ID# 22563 with Southern California Edison". Tried to scam my boss out of a grand, told her to buy some "express payment money packs" from Family Dollar for "electronic personal use". Kept on hold for a minute to Google the number and found James Floyd's post, so thank you James. P.s. also gave my boss a number to call for verification 877-355-3582, it links to a woman's voice recording claiming to be ca edison, then "james" will pick up.
