Called my phone at 5:19am PST and left a message "informing" of a judgement being filed against me. I called back and was offered a settlement to stop the judgement after being told numerous times that I knew what I did, that there was no point in acting stupid about this, and that they were under no obligation to explain the origin of the debt or provide anything in writing. I countered the settlement amount and was transferred to a "manager", who then countered my offer. I was prepared to pay the settlement until they told me I had to give my credit card info over the phone. When I asked for a secured online payment portal to remit the settlement payment, I was told secured online payment portals were not secure and that they only would accept credit card over the phone right this minute (she also tried a "takeaway" tactic twice by saying "I don't think I even want to take payment if you can't trust the work I'm doing, which I've been doing 27 years...". I pointed out that the banks and credit cards they are collecting on behalf of offer secured online payment portals and was hung up on.
