Perfect English language person left me a message "Call us before it's too late" . My call back was answered by a Pakistani or Bangladeshi accent explaining in a very fast pace how I will be arrested in 15 minutes because of alleged Tax Invasion or Tax Fraud that they tried to serve me notice about twice last month by mail, and since I did not respond to mailed letters, they started pressuring me really heavily that unless I resolve this right now, over the phone, then within 15 minutes my case will be started at the court, my bank accounts and credit cards will be frozen and that police officer will come to my house to arrest me, I will go to jail for 30 days while courts will be investigating. Scary enough? The whole narrative, the threat of arrest and 10 days jail time, was so EXTREMELY convincing, to such level that this could cause a vulnerable person to get a heart attach and die! They tried to pressure me to go the bank and stay on the phone conversation until I would get there, and again, if the call was interrupted, police was coming within 15 minutes to arrest me... Yes, there were holes in their narrative, but every time I asked specific question, i..e suggesting that I would personally go CRA office to resolve this, they produced strong counter arguments, i.e. it's too late to go to CRA offeice, police was coming to arrest me within 15 minutes. And so on and so on. After about 1/2 hour of trying to understand what heavy- pakistani-bangladeshi-accented person was trying to tell me, they eventually hanged up. I called local police office and immediately when I said that I was calling about phone call... police officer interrupted me and said right away, Revenue Canada call, right? He said the police is getting tons of complaints everyday calling about these fraud calls, he said these calls are originating from foreign countries although caller ID shows Canadian phone number, Ottawa. IGNORE AND HANG UP!
