Calls repeatedly, won't speak when call is answered, just a lot of call center noise in the background and then disconnects. Blocking their number.

This company Portfolio of Recovery has been trying to get ahold of an old college roommate of mine for years. I have told them that I do not give out any private information on friends and family. I know exactly where he is but I will not give these scumbags any information. They call from hundreds of numbers not only 1800's. DO NOT ANSWER ANY CALLS THAT YOU ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH. Let them call and leave a message. Portfolio never leaves messages. I have not answered calls from numbers I don't know for years but if I have the time I google the number and quickly find out it is from the Portfolio scumbags. Remember they have hundreds of numbers they use all over the US.

Just got the same call. Didn’t answer & blocked the number. I don’t answer calls of numbers I don’t recognize.

Called a few minutes ago. Caller identified herself as Casey Stapleton from Portfolio Recovery and that the call was being recorded. Asked me to verify last 4 of social and I refused for security reasons, also asked to verify address and DOB. I refused and requested a callback number. She became very irritated, I advised that I am being cautious due to phone scams and phishing. Call back number provided was 800-772-1413, She went on to say that they are going to ask the same questions and hung up.
