The person on the other line identified himself as: Joey Wilson, IRS officer with a badge ID #GS08109 he went on to validate my name and home address. At the end, he asked if I had filed my tax returns for the years 2012-2016 and I said: of course I did. After a bit of dialogue and a few other questions; I finally asked him in return why he was asking me if I had filed my tax returns for the years 2012-2016? In doing so, he became irate and asked 'who told me so?' I was a bit astounded at this individual and asked to speak to his supervisor as I noticed not only did his access became harder to follow, his tone of voice became hostile. And soon after that he hung up on me. Very unprofessional thus leading me to believe this was a scam! I looked-up the direct number to dial to the IRS which is: 800-366-4484
