asked for donations for the local police department, and officers. was a real person asking for someone else, then attempted to sell it to me upon finding out it was the wrong person. After that, they sent me to their ‘communications’ or something else person. who will try to get your address to send you a packet to your address. They supposedly have 3 different packets you can choose from... a $25; a 45; and a $50. Then they proceed to ask you where you work and what you work as. I would really hope this isn’t a scam but in this world... it probably is.

Sad they use our local PD as a scam. It was a male voice looking for support in raising money for police tactical equipment. They then send you to their "communications" dept to talk to someone overseas.

Bogus "Police Foundation" scam soliciting donations "to help law enforcement" and when pressed say that money goes to political candidates that "support law enforcement" -- Refused to answer questions about tax status or if they are a 501c3 or PAC. Another variation on a classic scam that I've heard dozens of times with the same script just a different name.
