Recording will state your name or that of someone close to you and say there is a complaint filed against you. Will leave a series of fearmongering messages claiming that you're going to be served with papers to appear in court or that they will contact your HR department. Total horsecrap.

I have been contacted for the last 6 months by this company for a debt that was discharged by bankruptcy years ago. They represent, in this case, Citi Bank who knows the debt was discharged. Their callers refuse to Identify themselves as required by law. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, debt collectors are required to identify themselves in any communication with a debtor. ... The bottom line is, under the FDCPA, debt collectors should not leave answering machine or voicemail messages.

These people should be fined and put in jail for harassment. Maybe we should all get together and file a suit of our own?
