Reached out to me on craigslist to buy a bed. Sent a cashier's check for $2,600 to pay for a $500 bed and said that some of the money would go to the shipper. We did not cash the check. I got a text from this number claiming to be the husband of the buyer and asking us to deposit the check. Fraud. Reported it. Used the names: River Farmi, Roberta Weaver, Matthew Swierzewski. Got a craigslist reply from River Farmi. He/she asked me to forward the email from craigslist to Matthew Swierzewski and then replied with an email from Roberta Weaver. I also received another call from (609) 913-8754 asking to confirm some information or else legal action would be taken against us.

Scam!! Same story here, they sent a check for $2,500.00 for a $250.00 cabinet I was selling. I was instructed to give the rest of the money to "the movers". I called this number and told him I was no longer selling my cabinet, he hung up. We filed a police report.

Scammer. Wanted to buy a bumper and sent a check for way more than the asking price, saying to use the rest to pay the movers. The check was from Visage Arts and Design inc, from Evergreen National Bank. He said that something changed and the deal was off. My bank said that the check was cleared (which ended up not clearing the next day) so I sent the money back. Contacted the police, post office (they had a P.O. Box listed on the check), and bth banks.

I listed an armoire on Craigslist for $350 and they sent me a text and then a check for $2400 and told me to text this phone number. (305-760-9782) The check had Valor Property Management and Recht North Island Credit Union on it.

I was selling ski boots on Craigslist for $200. I just received a check for $2300.89. I was to take out $300. Then the mover was to get the rest of the funds. Up until now, I was playing nice nice with them; so naive. I will not cash the check, but I am concerned that they now have my address and email.

Received a text message from this number, and good thing I did a quick Google search first cause they had texted, never called, that they're texting me in regards to an application for a job I put into simplyhired.com, the scary part is that's a real website, and I was just laid off work last week and literally sent in over 30 applications not even joking. But none from simplyhired, I actually never even heard of it since I only use indeed, but they never said their name, or what company their texting from, so that was fishy to me and said if I was still looking for work to click on a link that WASN'T SIMPLYHIREDs website for one, and just said to "fill the form" once I did, needless to say I didn't click on it!! Immediately report for spam, and never ever click open on anything that has that number with it.

Recieved check for $2400.00 for the purchase of a treadmill I listed on Craig's List for $350.00. The buyer wanted me to give the difference to the that would pick up item. I called the Trust Company listed on the check and found that the routing number was correct but, the account number was non-existent. Sent copy of check to the Trust Company.

Scammer!! Wanted to buy a $1700 couch on Craigslist and sent me a $4,000 check??? Wanted me to pay $2,300 to a mover who never came. What the hell!!

Another scam started 5/4/19, when my disabled brother wanted to sell his old Snap-On rolling tool box for sale on Craigslist for $1500, a "Marcie Scott" sent him a $2500 check and would send a truck with guys to move it today. That check was to draw funds from an account in The KCB bank in Kenya, Africa. My brother called the FBI.

The same day of 5/8/2019. The caller wants to buy a Craiglist'ed $800 car by a check of $2500, then instructed sending the extra $1700 to the "Mover". Check fraud and scammer.
