Who called from the number +1 (202) 455-8888

This person keeps getting different numbers and harrasing me

Do not answer this number - it is a scam. The person texted me to buy something we posted on Craigslist. When I replied they captured my phone number and used it to set up a free phone number. Do not reply to 202-455-88 or 904-257-6779.

I was using my phone and all of a sudden I get a call from this number. I decided not to answer it because I live in a place far away from the united states, I assume it is a spam call because it has been reported here many times. I am glad I didn't answer it.

This number called me at 4 am in the morning. I don't know this number so, I don't answer it and blocked it immediately.

I received a call from this number +12024558888 said from Washington dc.I didn't answer it but received voice mail saying "goodbye".I'm in Australia. Then a few minutes later received a google verification code in a text..Any idea what this is about??

No, this number itself is not a scam, and no, it does NOT belong to "DSLNET". It is the phone number, owned by Google, that is used by them on calls to its users, to verify linked/forwarding phone numbers. The actual scam is the infamous "Craigslist scam". People use social engineering trickery to respond to Craigslist ads, pretending to be interested in the seller's item, and tell them a lie about using a "Google Phone", and that the called party needs to enter a code. Doing this allows the scammer to claim another Google Voice phone number by using your mobile number as an "eligibility ticket". Bottom line: never respond to calls from this number, unless YOU initiated the process with Google Voice.

Just found two calls voicemail from this number on My husbands phone and it is just silent for ages no message! My husband had just recently passed away so upsetting and worrying.

Ooops.. corrected by one of the dispatchers here saying that she was trying to link a number to Google on her break thus being routed to voicemail the first time. Did come through again a few minutes later via the same dispatcher with success. Turns out she switched to Google Fi therefore making her GV (Google Voice) number useless on the web. She started another Google account and got a new number to use on GV.

Received a call from that number here also but it was routed to voicemail from it being well out of our service area. Call received 18:23UT on 9 March 2019.

I got the call from DC at 1:20am in Texas. Added voicemail, then text message... all in Chinese. WTH?
